Combo set RB Concept V12 R3 EFRA-IFMAR 2007
Since its first victory at the World Cup, the RB Concept V12 is one of the most popular touring car engines of the world. Rody Roem and the whole RB team have worked for many months on a new version of this world famous engine. The RB Concept R3 reaches a new level of power by keeping the usual drivability of the RB Concept line-up.This engine comes with a new bi-turbo crankshaft with a very aggressive timing used by the team drivers during the latest world Championship, and a new 3 ports piston sleeve. The combustion Chamber is designed to decrease the vibration and the junction with the sleeve has also been improved. This engine comes with a new lightened low profiled head to improve the handling of the car!
The crankcase is made of aluminum with vacuum casting procedures. The design has been made to obtain the best rigidity possible(engine mounts, reinforcements) and better cooling with additional ribs. More rigid, the crankcase of the RB CONCEPT R3 series improves the mechanical efficiency of the internal components. The fixation of the carburetor has been modified for a more reliable attachment with less possibility of damage of the carburetor.
If you look carefully at the shape of the 3 transfers in the crankcase, you can notice the presence of a small separator in the middle of the side-ports, this separator increases the speed of the gas-flow just before entering in the cylinder for a better filling. The porting is made to fit perfectly with the porting of the liner. Note the additional work on top of the main bearing, both side of the front port.
The new 3 ports EFRA/IFMAR legal ABC sleeve comes with a CNC machined lighten piston. The new design of this piston, and the shape of the exhaust port drives the RB CONCEPT R3 to a new level of power.
All new in the RB CONCEPT R3 engine, the combustion Chamber is designed to decrease the vibration. In the same way and the junction with the sleeve has also been improved to increase longer life !
The conrod is manufactured using a special strong and high quality aluminum and checked by ultrasound. With its special aerodynamic "knife" shape, the weight is reduced to increase the accelerations at low rpm and to optimize the internal gas-flow. Due to the two bushings in bronze, the conrod is perfectly lubricated, even if the engine is working under heavy racing conditions.
The new bi-turbo RB CONCEPT R3 crankshaft comes with a very aggressive timing. Tested and validate by the team drivers during the latest world Championship this crankshadr respects the IFMAR/EFRA rules.
The use of high speed ball-bearings is what we have found the best for the RB CONCEPT R3, the front-bearing features a rubber shield to prevent dust from coming into the engine while the main-bearing is also a high speed type for very high performances and reliability.
The RB CONCEPT R3 Rody orange cooling-head has a real Champion's look ! All new for the R3, a new lightened low profiled head to improve the handling of the car!
The carburetor of the RB CONCEPT R3 is an aluminum type for more stable and easy adjustments. It has an exclusive system of removable Venturi (supplied with venturi 5.4mm diameter) which allow to change easily the diameter of the carburetor (optional 6mm & 6.5mm).
The TURBO type glow-plug delivered with this RB CONCEPT R3 engine is specially adapted for Touringf engine.
